I don't wanna share

After celebrating Ady's birthday at Chuck E Cheese it seems that Jaden has caught a bug. Or maybe it is allergies. Basically Jaden is coughing. That's it. No fever. No snot. No tummy ache. No complaints. Just coughing. His cough is bad enough that he needs treated both during the day and at night. I usually try to avoid medicating the kids during the day but he would be miserable if I didn't.
Before anyone feels compelled to tell me, yet again, that my kids are always sick please refrain from doing so. They aren't. They are seen by a doctor regularly. Go to all well baby checks, physicals, and illness appointments. Plus it is very likely that Jaden is having some allergy issues. Both his dad and brother have been battling them. It is that time of year.

In other news Jaden has been using the potty for a week! SHHH! Don't say anything to loudly. We had poop on the potty for the first time today too! SHHH! Don't want to jinx it. Or piss off the potty gods by talking about how he is doing. There will be more on this later, maybe 2 weeks from now when things look more promising.

Ady starts school in 8 days! 8 days! EEK! We are ready in the physical here and now sense. Not so ready in the mental and emotional my daughter is going to kindergarten sense. She has picked out her school clothes, we have 8-10 pairs of shoes, backpack is pack, and her lunch box arrived yesterday. EEK!
I am very glad our school is starting later than most around us. Ady will be 5 years and 6 days old when she starts school. I was very worried I would be sending my 4 year old off to full day kindergarten!

Ady was playing with Barbies, Pinkie and Sparkly to be specific...no she didn't name them...Jonas did! She wanted them to be Teresa and Nikki(their actual names) but Jonas reasoned that they are all named that and she doesn't want to forget who she is playing with. Who could argue with that logic?

The great lunch debate

Most of you know I am trying to go waste free for Ady's lunches. Which, obviously, implies I plan on sending her lunches. Which also means she will need a lunchbox. After having all summer to sit down and discuss the lunchbox issues, concerns, and whatnot's here we are 2 weeks from school and no box! It just wasn't important in June, July, or last week when I found a possible 2nd choice. Oh yeah, that's right, all summer I was planning on buy a pink laptop lunch. That was what we were getting end of discussion, and, yet, I still didn't order it.

Here we sit 2 weeks before school and no lunchbox. Now there are bigger problems too. Do I get the pink laptop lunch or do I get the uber cute lunchopolis pink polka dot bag? Both are priced around the same arm and leg amount. Both offer good options for waste free. My biggest concern with the polka dot is the stacking. OH and the BPA issue, which isn't really an issue for me but seems to be for everyone else and occasionally I like to follow so I guess it sort of becomes a problem for me just by association. Plus I don't want a BPA Free activist to start slinging all natural "chemicals" on my blog so let's pretend it is an issue.

Tell me what you think. Or do you have a better option for an all in one lunch box?

Ady: In Hannah Montana this girl with red hair bites the dog trying to eat the dog food
me: That sounds like it could be funny
Ady: Oh it was. Hannah Montana sings everybody makes mistakes and this song that is on right now. I like Hannah Montana cause she sings pretty but I also like Mriley cause she is the real girl Hannah Montana is just Mriley in a blond wig. The one in the red wig is funnier than Mriley and Hannah Montana cause she bit the dog.
me: Really! I didn't realize you knew so much about Hannah Montana
Ady: Well actually I know so much about Mriley cause Hannah Montana is just pretend.

Ady: Aunt Janelle is having a baby brother for Joel. When will you have a baby sister for me?
Me: When you want to have a sister OR a brother we will talk about having another baby. Aunt Janelle doesn't know she is having a brother for Joel he just wants a brother.
Ady: I guess we will never have a baby because I never ever want a brother. I have enough of those! How is the Dr going to get the baby out of Aunt Janelle's belly? Does she just reach in there and take it? I got an idea...if Aunt Janelle has a sister in her belly we can have her for me and they can get a brother for Joel. That sounds like a good idea doesn't it
Me: After the Dr. we are going to the toy store(thank goodness she didn't get back on the baby subject)

Ady: Mom, I LOVE all the Hannah Montana and High School Musical songs. Do you want to sing them with me.
Me: I don't think I know those songs
Ady: Oh yeah you only listen to Laurie Berkner and Billy Joel
(Did she just insult me?)
